Sweet Revenge

The Plough lost to the Berkeley Juniors the first time we faced them but playing them for the second time this past Sunday allowed sweet revenge with a 4-2 win. Sunday's great lineup included many guests; myself, Jason, Ben who stepped in for Ricky as goalkeeper, James, and Sam. It's often the case that when a few new people enter a lineup it throws off the rhythm of the team, but this wasn't the case on Sunday. The game started with a goal from Julio and was followed later in the half by a goal from celebrity guest Jason (assisted by me!). Jason made headlines again late in the second half when he got a red card for retaliation. Later in the half an own-goal from a Junior's defender occurred (which was later countered by an own-goal from the Plough as Aden showed us all what a great shot he has and how truly tricky he can be). Julio scored again in the second half from a great through pass from Victor and a terrific shot to the top of the goal right through the goalie's hands. Offense did a wonderful job of scoring, passing, and working together and defense did an incredible job of shutting down their chances. Almost every ball received by the Junior's goalkeeper was punted slightly past the half line and almost every time he did this our defense, especially Mick with his headers, won the ball and got it swiftly up the field. The Plough is fortunate to have such a trustworthy defensive line as well as one that consistently communicates well.
